Agogo, a new mobile audio service, aims to collect the span of online audio offerings such as Spotify, Rdio, and NPR and connect them, in a single interface. The service categorizes programming into curated channels that adjust to user preferences, and compiles free audio, video, and written content online from reliable sources, converts them all into audio, and then interconnects them to bounce between ideas rapidly.
Agogo is heavily centered on being useful in automobiles, taking a dab at satellite radio services such as SiriusXM, which is offered in several new car models. However, the service is limited to Bluetooth for it to work with steering-wheel controls. It also relies on your phone’s connectivity to work, which can be unreliable due to location.
Agogo launched Wednesday as a free iOS app and is also accessible on any device that can connect to its Web version.
