[Satellite TODAY 07-19-13] ITT Exelis has received Nadcap accreditation of its aerostructures composite design and manufacturing center for chemical processing, non-destructive inspection, composite fabrication and advanced quality systems. Nadcap is a worldwide cooperative industry effort administered by the Performance Review Institute (PRI) for quality assurance throughout the aerospace and defense industries.

"The Nadcap accreditation is recognition of our robust quality system and confirms to the aerospace industry that Exelis operates under the highest-quality standards," said Mike Blair, vice president and general manager of the Exelis aerostructures business.

Exelis received Nadcap accreditation for “demonstrating its ongoing commitment to quality by satisfying customer requirements and industry specifications,” according to a written statement from Exelis.

"Achieving Nadcap accreditation is not easy, it is one of the ways in which the aerospace industry identifies those who excel at manufacturing quality products through superior special processes. Companies such as Exelis work hard to obtain this status and they should be justifiably proud of it," said Joe Pinto, vice president and chief operating officer at PRI.
