[Satellite TODAY 05-22-13] Advantech Wireless has announced the release of the New Sapphire Series 2,500W Ku-Band UltraLinear GaN SSPA/BUC, modular design with built-in redundancy.
The new Sapphire Class of High Performance UltraLinear GaN is able to cover simultaneously all transponders of a specific satellite with a reduction in size, weight, and energy consumption. Combined with the traditional Advantech Wireless features, the new Sapphire Class of UltraLinear GaN technology based SSPAs and BUCs is designed for Multi Carrier operations and can save 8 to 15 dB power compared to indoor Klystrons or linearized TWTs.
“Our customers realize great savings in energy cost, CAPEX and OPEX,” Cristi Damian, VP product line management and business development at Advantech Wireless, said in a statement. “Combined with Advantech Wireless’ high performance line of Satcom Antennas, these new systems are the only worldwide solution able to offer the maximum use of satellite bandwidth and power.”
