[Satellite TODAY 05-01-13] Advantech Wireless has announced the release of its new Direct to Home (DTH) solution: the new Sapphire Series 600W Ku-Band UltraLinearTM GaN SSPA/BUC.

 

    Featuring high power density in a compact, rugged and weatherproof package, the New Sapphire Class of high performance, GaN technology based solid state power amplifiers (SSPAs) and BUCs, can cover multiple transponders, are full DVB-S2 enabled and are expected to save eight to 15 dB power compared to indoor Klystrons or linearized TWTs.
