[Satellite TODAY 02-15-13] DIRECTV announced it has added 761,000 net additions in its 2012 fourth quarter, driven by DIRECTV Latin America’s record of 658,000. For the year, DIRECTV Latin America set a record with 4.4 million gross additions and 2.4 million net additions, while Sky Mexico added 1.1 million net new subscribers. In North America, DIRECTV U.S. added 199,000 net new customers. 
 
    The company’s performance in the fourth quarter drove the full year revenue to approximately $30 billion and the operating profit before depreciation and amortization (OPBDA) to more than $7.5 billion. Additionally, DIRECTV reported its full year diluted earnings per share rose 32 percent to $4.58, and the company has authorized a new $4 billion stock repurchase program.
 
    "Strong consumer demand for DIRECTV’s diversified portfolio of businesses across the Americas fueled the largest annual net subscriber gain in our history with nearly 3.8 million net customers added including Sky Mexico,” Mike White, chairman, president and CEO of DIRECTV, said on a statement.
