[Satellite TODAY 02-12-13] Datasat Communications is introducing a new service targeted for mine operators who wish to upgrade their analogue Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) networks to digital. Through wireless broadband and satellite infrastructure integration, the service provides design, build and network transition to enable operators to TETRA standard mission critical voice and data services.

   "Radio communications is an essential part of every remote mine operation. The development of digital PMR means that mine companies can enhance their mission critical voice services and deploy fail safe data services in areas such as health and safety, asset management and operational effectiveness," Bernie Branfield, general manager at Datasat Communications, said on a statement.
