[Satellite TODAY 02-11-13] Raytheon released a new mobile app that provides reliable and secure real-time communications for first responders. One Force Mobile Collaboration also offers situational awareness and a suite of collaboration capabilities for groups of users on smartphones, tablets and mobile data computers.
According to Raytheon, the app was designed to allow for user customization, taking into account that each region and each department of first responders will have its own specific requirements.
One Force features voice, maps, drawing, chat, real-time position tracking with GPS, video streaming, and image sharing capabilities.
"For most first responders, the personal cell phone they carry has significantly more communications capabilities than their traditional police radio," said TJ Kennedy, director of Public Safety and Security for Raytheon’s NCS business. "However, a civilian cell phone is not optimized for public safety use.”
The application allows access to smartphone technology while providing the tools first responders need to do their jobs.
One Force allows departments to use existing hardware and infrastructure operating on 2G, 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi networks. It supports Android, iOS and Windows devices.
