[Satellite TODAY 01-31-13] Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) has decided to consolidate all of its satellite capacity under the Thor brand name, the operator announced Jan. 31.

   The brand switch will change the names of the TSBc satellite fleet, including its payload on the Intelsat 10-02 satellite, at the 1 degree West orbital location. The new satellite names will be: Thor 5 T1, 5 T2, 6 K1, 6 K2, 10 02 S1 and 10 02 S2. The fleet currently serves regions of Europe, such as the Nordic countries and Central and Eastern Europe.

   “We believe in keeping things simple, so we have decided to consolidate all our satellite capacity under the Thor name,” TSBc said in a company statement. “A small change, but one which we are sure will make a difference and make it easier for our customers and the external community to immediately identify the TSBc satellite fleet and capacity at our orbital home at 1 degree West.”
