[Satellite TODAY 01-17-13] Pactel has signed a multi-year, multi-transponder deal with SES for capacity on the NSS-9 at 183 degrees East to ramp up its voice and data service offerings within the Pacific region, the operator announced Jan. 17.

   Pactel said the additional capacity would enable the company to offer enhanced satellite communications services to remote locations in the Pacific region, enabling hundreds of businesses access to fast and reliable internet connectivity and competitively priced voice calls.
   “In the Pacific region, where satellite is the ideal infrastructure, we see how vital connectivity is for businesses,” SES Senior Vice President of Commercial for Asia-Pacific and Middle East Deepak Mathur said in a statement. “With Pactel as our trusted partner in the region, we are proud to be able to continue supporting their objectives in offering connectivity solutions across the islands.”
