[Satellite TODAY 11-15-12] Canadian Satellite Radio Holdings’ increased subscriber base have contributed to a rise in 2012 fourth-quarter profit, the satellite radio services provider reported Nov. 12.

For the 2012 fourth quarter, the company reported a net income of $6.12 million, compared to the $3.5 million last year, reflecting the quarter’s increased number of subscribers at 2.2 million, up from 1.98 million recorded at the 2011 fourth quarter.
Total revenue was posted as $68.12 million, up from $61.11 million for the prior-year period. This number surpassed the expected revenue of $66.95 million reported by two Thomson Reuters analysts.
"Looking to fiscal 2013, we are confident our growth will continue as we work to increase in-vehicle penetration rates and better leverage opportunities in the pre-owned car market," SiriusXM Canada President and CEO Mark Redmond said in a statement.
