[Satellite TODAY 10-22-12] Satellite pay-TV operator Dish Network has settled all of its pending litigation with Voom HD Holdings after agreeing to pay $700 million in cash, the companies announced Oct. 22.

Dish Network also will receive 500 MHz of wireless multichannel video distribution and data service (MVDDS) spectrum licenses as part of the agreement. Those licenses cover major U.S. urban areas, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia.
Separately, Dish Network signed a multi-year agreement with AMC to resume broadcast of the network on Dish channel 131.
“We are glad to have settled the case and reestablished our long-term relationships with AMC Networks and Cablevision,” Dish Network Senior Vice President of Programming Dave Shull said in a statement. “This multi-year deal delivers a fair value for both parties and includes digital expansion opportunities for AMC Networks’ programming.”
Other AMC networks programming, including Sundance Channel, WE tv and IFC, will resume broadcast on Dish Network beginning Nov. 1.
