Ateme will install Kyrion codecs in 2 SAT trucks to enable them to fulfill all satellite transmission requirements from MPEG-2 SD to MPEG-4 HD and at any bitrate.

   “Our trucks are travelling across the whole of Europe for all kinds of sports and live events, so we have to select technology that is very broadly accepted,” 2 SAT CEO Bas Giskes said in a statement. “Following the contract award for the Moto GP coverage, we decided to modernize our equipment and we were looking for a solution offering flexibility in terms of codecs, compatibility with the receivers used by our clients, and that our operators could use easily. We had a positive experience during early trials of the Kyrion contribution pair from Ateme.”
