[Satellite TODAY 08-13-12] Central European Telecom Services (CETel) has acquired a teleport from Kabel Deutschland for an undisclosed sum, CETel announced Aug. 10.

CETel will inherit the Kabel Deutschland teleport’s RF infrastructure, including its array of 9.4-meter antennas, and will integrate the assets into its own teleport near Cologne, Germany.
CETel Managing Director Martin Terlunen said the infrastructure would be used for C- and Ku-band services, including those provided by Eutelsat satellites at 10 degrees East and 16 degrees East.
“CETel Group has grown tremendously in the past few years and continues the company’s strategy to provide tailored solutions for every kind of satellite-based communication requests,” Terlunen said in a statement. “The acquisition of Geolink Satellite Services last year complemented the services portfolio for both companies and the recent acquisition of the Kabel Deutschland teleport will feed the increased demand for new satellite services.”
