[Satellite TODAY 08-03-12] Miranda Technologies has rolled out enhancements for its NVision 9000 router control system for television broadcasters and multi-system operators, the company announced Aug. 2.

The improved systems aim to enable new customer options for router system upgrades and bi-directional communications with all NVision routing systems and legacy, third-party router systems.
“Broadcasters are often faced with ageing infrastructures and the prospect of cripplingly expensive upgrade paths, especially with routing systems,” Miranda Vice President of Infrastructure and Routing Marco Lopez said in a statement. “The next-generation NVision 9000 controller and its associated transition program eliminates many of those obstacles by providing centralized, integral command and control and a straight-line route to total modernization at a fraction of the cost of alternative options … A routing system is a significant long-term investment. Ensuring ongoing interoperability between new devices and old equipment typically requires a long and expensive transition period that can put a painful strain on CapEx budgets.”
