[Satellite TODAY 05-01-12] British broadcaster BSkyB has renewed its broadcast and multimedia sales software contract with Harris Corp. for a period of five years with an additional three-year extension option, Harris announced April 30. 

   BSkyB and Harris also will work together to develop new Harris Landmark software functionalities to address future media sales challenges.
   Landmark sales software enables BSkyB’s sales house, Sky Media, to administer commercial spot advertisements across 200 Sky-owned and partner channels, totaling more than 24 million advertising spots per year.
   “BSkyB has complex demands for managing and executing campaigns across multi-channel and multimedia environments,” Harris Broadcast Communications President Harris Morris said in a statement.  “Major broadcasters like BSkyB look for a long-term and close relationship with suppliers so they can benefit from and influence new features and functionalities.  It’s the kind of relationship that helps us evolve our overall portfolio and meet evolving customer requirements.”
