[Satellite TODAY 11-15-11] German technology developer 2wcom Systems has delivered its FlexXtract monitoring solution to Media Broadcast to support Deutschland Radio broadcasts of its DAB Plus programs via a network of 27 satellite-feed DAB Plus TX-stations, 2wcom announced Nov. 14.
The company said its FlexXtract solution receives SCPC MPEG2 transport streams and extracts the DAB Plus ETI/EDI signal. The distribution from the studios to the DAB Plus TX is delivered via a high-coverage, nationwide satellite distribution network. Deutschland Radio is the first radio chain to launch its digital radio services via its own network.
“The FlexXtract combines a modern concept along with the latest processor technology, SNMP monitoring and remote access via a Web Interface,” 2wcom Systems Technical Director Ove Kamentz said in a statement. “Our main advantage in designing such a cost-effective and reliable DAB Plus distribution system has been based on our long-lasting experience in the field of satellite audio transmission technology.”
