[Satellite TODAY 07-12-11] An Egyptian court has ordered Egypt’s state-owned satellite operator Nilesat to remove 14 Libyan TV stations from its programming line-up, according to a July 11 report released by the Egyptian State News Agency.

The court’s decision was sparked by the launch of a homegrown satellite TV station in May by Libyan rebels, which featured content critical of the Egyptian government and NATO air strikes. Libyan citizens and Egyptian lawyers then filed a lawsuit against the stations.
Nilesat said the stations are off the air until they can find another satellite to beam them.
