Dish Network Appoints New CEO

[Satellite TODAY 05-17-11] Joseph Clayton is to become the new CEO and President of Dish Network, the company announced May 16.

Charlie Ergen, who formerly held the positions of President and CEO, will remain as chairman of Dish Network. Dish Network has just over 14 million pay-TV subscribers in the United States.

Clayton has a strong background in the satellite industry. He was previously the chairman of Sirius Satellite Radio for just under four years between 2004 and 2008.
