[Satellite TODAY 05-08-11] RTV Slovenia has extended its Hot Bird satellite capacity contract with Eutelsat Communications for another 10 years, the operator announced May 6.

             RTV Slovenia’s Hot Bird capacity partnership with Eutelsat started in 1997. The broadcaster uses the capacity to host digital television and transmit entertainment content to cable, IP and satellite homes in Slovenia, North Africa and the Middle East.

“We are delighted to consolidate relationships with broadcasters of reference in Central Europe and to retain the confidence of RTV Slovenia for another 10 years of satellite broadcasting. Our objective is to continue to deliver the quality of service, reach and visibility that RTV Slovenia expects so they can offer the best of Slovenian information and entertainment to viewers across the Hot Bird footprint,” Eutelsat CEO Michel de Rosen said in a statement.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
