GlobeCast has increased the interconnection of its global technical facilities to platform operators and broadcast facilities via fiber as part of its strategy to add value to its content transport services, the company announced.
The dedicated fiber connectivity will be linked with the company’s existing satellite and fiber network infrastructure to connect with more than 70 of its major broadcast clients. The enhanced backbone network will span five continents and reach more than 30 points-of-presence supported by capacity on 28 satellites.
“Broadcasters know and trust GlobeCast for their ability to manage and move content around the world. Today we’ve gone a step further, bringing content directly to the premises of the world’s most watched networks and bouquets,” GlobeCast COO Philippe Fort said in a statement.
