[Satellite TODAY 12-15-10] Arianespace reschedule the launch of an Arine 5 spacecraft carrying the Hispasat 1E and KoreaSat 6 satellites in order to allow one of its customers to perform complementary checks on its payload, Arianespace announced Dec. 14.

Liftoff now is set for Dec. 28 in a launch window that runs from 6:26 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. in Kourou, French Guiana.

Koreasat 6, built by Thales Alenia Space using a Star-2 platform from Orbital Sciences, carries 30 Ku-band transponders to provide telecommunications and broadcasting services from 116 degrees East.

Hispasat 1E, built by Space Systems/Loral using an LS 1300 platform, carries 53 Ku-band transponders to enable Hispasat to offer a broader range of video and data transmission services with European and pan-American coverage from 30 degrees West.
