[Satellite TODAY 12-03-10] Digital content security solutions provider Conax has entered a contract with Vietnam’s state-owned broadcaster VCTV to deliver a content protection solution to a VCTV cable operator subsidiary, Conax announced Dec. 2.
    The solution will include Conax’s core conditional access technology, chipset pairing and near video-on-demand (nVOD) technologies.
    Conax’s chipset pairing will work to protect VCTV content from transmission through to the consumer device, while providing full control of secure content delivery to the operator. VCTV will use Conax’s nVOD solution to broadcast multiple copies of a program at short time intervals, supported by Conax content protection.
    “After careful evaluation, we determined that Conax met the strict conditional access security and pricing requirements for VCTV’s cable TV network, one of the fastest growing cable networks in Vietnam,” VCTV Spokesman Nguyen Viet Dung said in a statement.
