[Satellite TODAY 11-18-10] Viewsat, a provider of global broadcast and transmission services for television and radio channels, extended its contract with Intelsat to lease video capacity at 68.5 degrees East longitude, Intelsat announced Nov 17.
    The multi-transponder agreement extends Viewsat’s current contract on the Intelsat 10 satellite onto the Intelsat 20 satellite (IS-20) following its launch and entry into service in 2012.
    “With capacity on IS-20, we are equipped with the in-orbit resources we require to ensure our business grows. Intelsat’s IS-20 not only offers us access to its industry-leading African video neighborhood, but provides us with access to the right audiences beyond Africa as we expand our program offerings, regions served and subscribers,” Viewsat CEO Awaes Jaswal said in a statement.
