[Satellite TODAY 11-16-10] Advantech Wireless delivered a DVB-RCS MiniHub for NewCom International, Advantech announced Nov. 15.
    NewCom will use the hub at its teleport in Miami to provide broadband services in Latin America, and the contract also calls for Advantech to provide training, maintenance and support services.
    The device provides a complete suite of features such as TCP Acceleration, DVB-S2 ACM operation and Advantech Wireless’ Optimized QoS capability. Satellite bandwidth is assigned dynamically for the duration of a voice call, relinquishing the need to dedicate pre-assigned bandwidth. Inbound carriers are handled by Advantech Wireless’ single card MultiCarrier Demodulator, which supports up to 96 simultaneous carriers with varying symbol rates, Advantech said in a statement.
