[Satellite TODAY 11-10-10] Teranex Systems, a manufacturer of high-performance video processing platforms, and Sensio Technologies have integrated Sensio’s 3-D frame-compatible stereoscopic compression technology to Teranex’s 3-D VC1-3D-ENC and VC1-3D-DEC encoding and decoding applications, the companies announced Nov. 9.
    Teranex and Sensio said they partnered on the project to add capabilities enabling delivery of high-quality 3-D programming over an existing customer’s broadcasting infrastructure.
    “Adding Sensio 3-D technology to our VC100’s 3-D encoding and decoding applications ensures the highest fidelity to the original 3-D image all the way down the distribution line. We wanted to offer our customers a professional-grade proven solution to deliver a truly immersive 3-D experience to the home. Teranex’s VC100 dual-channel architecture is uniquely suited to 3-D, and combining our patented technology with Sensio’s enables our customers to broadcast premium-quality 3-D content over an existing 1.485 gigabits-per-second infrastructure,” Teranex General Manager Mike Poirier said in a statement.
