[Satellite TODAY 10-29-10] Measat Satellite Systems will distribute the Sky News HD channel across the Asia-Pacific region via C-band transponders on the Measat-3a satellite, the operator announced Oct. 28.
    Measat’s HD video neighborhood at 91.5 degrees East recently was expanded with the inception of the Measat-3 and Measat-3a satellites. Both satellites are co-located to support market demand within the region.
    In a statement, Measat Director of Broadcast Sales Jarod Lopez said the operator hopes Sky News HD, launched in the United Kingdom in May, will lead an HD content expansion effort. “The addition of Sky News HD on Measat’s platform adds variety to our bouquet of HD channels. The inclusion of Sky News HD maintains Measat’s leadership in the Asian region for HD channel distribution. We are continuously expanding our HD video neighborhood with new and exciting channels to meet demands for HD content.”
