[Satellite TODAY 10-28-10] Tecom Industries issued a $4 million contract to ITS Electronics to supply its high-power Transceiver-HPT RF electronics subsystem, which will enable an antenna system for an unnamed commercial carrier’s new onboard Wi-Fi service, ITS announced Oct. 27.
   The ITS technology was selected by Tecom to support installation of its KuStream 1000 antenna system on the carrier’s fleet of more than 500 aircraft. Tecom is currently equipping 15 aircraft per month and ultimately will expand to rates of 25 aircraft per month.

Our technology is revolutionizing communications, since for the first time, two-way untethered broadband connectivity is a concrete reality over land and sea anywhere in the world,” ITS Founder, President and CTO Ilya Tchaplia said in a statement.
