[Satellite TODAY 10-13-10] Didar Global TV has taken up additional services with Arqiva to expand its Persian broadcast coverage to a wider audience, Arqiva announced Oct. 12.
Arqiva will support the expansion with transatlantic fiber, teleport services, uplinking and capacity to launch the channel on Eutelsat’s Hot Bird satellite, which would enable Didar Global TV to reach audiences in Iran and Western Europe.
“The programming originates from studios very close to our teleport in Los Angeles, from where it is sent via our dedicated transatlantic fiber link to our U.K. teleport. Here the signal is split and uplinked onto both satellites. This fully integrated international infrastructure offers a simple, efficient and effective solution for transatlantic distribution — a solution recognized and appreciated by many broadcasters, including Didar,” Arqiva Broadcast & Media Executive Vice President Jon Kirchner said in a statement.
Financial details of the service agreement were not disclosed.
