[Satellite TODAY 10-08-10] Canadian satellite company MDA signed a multi-million dollar contract with EADS Astrium to provide three advanced technology solutions that will be integrated into the SES-6 satellite, MDA announced Oct. 7.
     SES-6, based on a Eurostar E3000 platform, aims to provide increased C-band broadcast capacity for the Americas and Europe and add new capacity to support maritime and aeronautical services.
     The satellite, scheduled to launch in 2013, also offers an upgrade to Ku-band capacity in the region, with dedicated high power beams and a payload to support mobile maritime and aeronautical services.
    Details of the technology were not disclosed.
