[Satellite TODAY 09-14-10] SkyVision Global Networks, a global provider of IP connectivity over satellite and fiber optic systems, has upgraded its SkyVision Advantage and SkyDirect Premium satellite-based Internet services with iDirect’s Evolution platform, iDirect announced Sept. 14.
With the upgrade, SkyVision aims to guarantee more reliable Internet access for customers and provide more flexible bandwidth management options.
Both SkyVision Advantage and Premium satellite-based Internet services include an iDirect Evolution X3 satellite router with access to dedicated or low-contention bandwidth on SES World Skies’ NSS-10 satellite.
The solutions use weather-resistant C-Band frequencies to ensure reliable Internet connections even in remote locations and are designed to support a variety of bandwidth-intensive application needs, including FTP, video conferencing and Voice-over-IP.
“SkyVision’s high-quality Internet services are helping meet the growing demand for reliable IP-based connectivity to satisfy a range of critical productivity functions for enterprises, government agencies and other customers. By upgrading to Evolution, SkyVision can maximize the efficiency and flexibility of its service delivery, giving the provider more room to grow its customer base,” iDirect’s Director of Sales, Africa, Sathish Amara said in a statement.
