The Unity 552 receivers will be used to decode live video broadcasts around the world and to increase the number of sites transitioned to DVB-S2 satellite modulation. The unit supports DVB-S2 satellite modulation, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4/h.264 video in standard and high-definition formats.
Separately, Wegener announced it received an order for 150 of its Unity 202 enterprise audio receivers from an unnamed international background music network.
Wegener’s Compel network control and audio receive equipment will be used by the customer to distribute audio services via satellite.
The Unity 202 is Wegener’s third-generation satellite music receiver targeted to meet the needs of the business music market. The receiver utilizes programmable file storage capability to ensure continuous, reliable service for regional ad insertions and automatic loss-of-signal music playout.
Both orders were booked and shipped during Wegener’s 2010 fourth quarter.
