Kahkeshan Digisat, an emerging Iranian DTH broadcaster, has selected European Media Port (EMP) to provide DTH uplink teleport and transmission services to Kahkeshan’s European and Middle East targeted markets, EMP announced Sept. 3.
The new channel will be hosted on Eutelsat’s Hotbird satellite at 13 degrees East and on the Hellas Sat satellite at 39 degrees East. EMP also is providing Kahkeshan with transmission via the Nemea teleport in Greece, solutions to the broadcasting industry including playout services, uplink, turnaround and occasional use services.
The Kahkeshan Digisat TV channel aims to provide news and entertainment to Iranian and other Persian-speaking viewers scattered across Europe and the Middle East with a wide variety of programs running 24 hours and dealing with issues related to social life in Iran as well as in the world at large. Its offerings include documentaries, interviews, concerts, theatre, cinema and literature among others.
