Latens, A provider of pay-TV software security solutions, has entered a partnership with middleware manufacturer Indieon Technologies to develop a secure, cardless one-way broadcasting solution for DTH broadcasters in Asia, the companies announced Sept. 7.
Latens said will provide its conditional access system (CAS) to integrate with Indieon’s middleware, including its line of set-top-boxes, to create an anti-piracy solution at a lower cost than traditional card-based or embedded set-top systems.
“The combination of Indieon STB range and Latens software CAS, coupled with the Indieon Middleware offers Satellite operators cost-effective, future proof and very secure enhanced delivery of DTH Pay-TV services. With features ranging from interactive EPG, PPV, NVOD, USB-PVR, first ever Single Tuner-based push VOD solution, localized advertising, information-services and games, operators will be able to increase ARPU to a new high and at affordable pricing-levels for the first time in Asia,” Indieon Technologies General Manager Adnan Dhuliawala  said in a statement.
