[Satellite TODAY 09-06-10] The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) has entered into the TV broadcasting market in Western Europe, signing a deal with Castor Broadcasting, a Netherlands-based company, to provide European TV and radio companies with satellite newsgathering services, RSCC announced Sept. 3.
Occasional use services will be provided using RSCC’s Express-AM44 satellite at 11 degrees West. Castor Broadcasting has created an online order system where SNG slots can be booked. RSCC and Castor Broadcasting have defined slots with an allocated bandwidth from 2 to 36 megahertz on the Express-AM44 satellite.
“We are sure that cooperation will allow us to gain confidence of European TV and radio companies and ensure high standards of service to customers,” RSCC Director General Yuri Prokhorov said in a statement.
