[Satellite TODAY 09-01-10] Globecomm Systems, a provider of satellite-based communications infrastructure solutions and services, has received a $4.3 million contract from an unnamed media and entertainment company, Globecomm announced Aug. 30.
    Under the contract, Globecomm will design and install a DTH satellite uplink and upgrade an existing uplink facility for the media and entertainment customer. Globecomm anticipates the completion of this contract in its fiscal year 2011 fourth quarter, ending June 2011.
    “We are pleased and honored to be selected by the customer for this challenging project. Our proven record in the DTH television business and in both RF and broadcast systems is viewed very favorably by the industry, establishing Globecomm as a major player in that field,” Globecomm Vice President of Asia Pacific Dov Cydulkin said in a statement.
