[Satellite TODAY 09-01-10] Artel has released its DLT710 multi-format 3G-SDI capable signal generator and test module to the market, the developer announced Aug. 30.
The DLT710 is Artel’s DL4000-based, low-price module designed for simple, automatic link verification of all serial digital video formats. The single module functions as both a signal generator and test monitor for 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI, DVB-ASI and ATSC formats for automatic verification of single or multi-format video links. It can be installed in any DL4000-based chassis and for remote installations can be packaged in a ruggedized travel case with the DL4100 single slot chassis.
The unit features the capability to generate and verify all common video transport formats along with the ability to automatically sequence through all pre-selected formats. Used in conjunction with Artel’s DL-Manager, the module logs CRC and EDH errors and monitors format changes or loss of video for a selected video circuit.
“Our customers told us that testing a video circuit is a time-consuming process requiring numerous pieces of expensive test equipment, most of which is designed for other applications.  Artel engineers went to the drawing board and designed a space efficient, low cost DL4000 based module that dramatically simplifies and automates the process,” Artel Video Systems President Richard Dellacanonica said in a statement.
