[Satellite TODAY 07-29-10] SkyWave Mobile Communications has released new versions of its DMR-800 satellite data and SureLinx 8100 dual-mode satellite/GPRS data terminals, the company announced July 27.
This new versions support features such as flex messaging, GPS and GSM jamming detection, antenna cut detection, and software encryption. The upgraded terminals also have the ability to reduce power consumption and increase battery life to five years for remote monitoring applications.
“Containers, trailers, buoys and oil and gas equipment are just some examples of remote equipment that need to be tracked and monitored using battery-powered communication terminals. Our new terminals will allow customers to either reduce the size or increase the life of the battery, thereby reducing costs,” SkyWave Spokesman David Sward said in a statement.
