[Satellite TODAY 07-21-10]  Microelectronics Technology Inc. (MTI), a supplier of microwave and RF equipment, signed a deal to supply components to Italian DTH operator Sky Italia, MTI announced July 19.
    The contract will see MTI supply LNB single-cable technology products, including it AK541-XT2 four-channel, single-cable product, to Sky Italia as one of two of the operator’s exclusive suppliers in 2010. The AK541-XT2 is designed to allow multiple connections of set-top box tuners via a single coax cable. This particular product will be used in the installation of the Sky Italia twin tuner PVR. Sky Italia will use this LNB with all PVR installations in the future.
    Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
