[Satellite TODAY 07-15-10] Lionsgate Films has signed a distribution agreement with satellite Web video delivery service XStreamHD which will allow customers to purchase or rent HD Lionsgate releases and access a content library of more than 12,000 titles on the Internet, XStreamHD announced July 14.
    The companies did not disclose the expected pricing for the video-on-demand titles. The agreement follows a multi-year deal XStreamHD signed with EchoStar in June to use FSS capacity leased on SES World Skies’ AMC-16 satellite to transport multiple streams of pre-fetched entertainment. The video files are automatically downloaded to subscribers’ media server library based on their preferences and previous title selections.
    The XStreamHD service, launched in 2008, is designed to deliver 1080p HD video and up to 7.1 channels of lossless audio.
