[Satellite TODAY 06-30-10] Vizada Networks has launched a portfolio of new and expanded services for the Middle East on Eutelsat‘s W7 Ku-band satellite using the iDirect platform and Vizada’s in-house developed JanUX solution, the company announced June 30.
The W7 services primarily will support the Vizada’s military, government, corporate and voice customers, with particular focus on Iraq and Afghanistan.
Vizada said the service expansion was made possible after the company secured guaranteed capacity on the W7 beam, which will be used to provide Internet connectivity to high-volume trunking for single sites and complex networks. The service will be delivered over the iDirect-based Internet Start for competitive entry to shared access and the JanUX-based Taide Broadband at Internet access speeds up to 52 megabits per second with full data throughput.
“The new and expanded Vizada Networks W7 services can use more compact Ku-band VSAT terminals and can benefit from in-house developed [quality of service] and service level agreements to secure high availability and an unmatched user experience,” the company said in a statement.
Separately, Vizada announced that it has launched commercial services for Inmarsat’s IsatPhone Pro and has optimized its IsatPhone Pro package with the availability of the Vizada Solutions portfolio.
Prior to the launch, Vizada participated in a beta test program with Inmarsat, using its testing facilities and global distribution network to ensure that the IsatPhone Pro is ready for market. Vizada is offering a seven-step preparedness program to IsatPhone service providers that focuses on operational needs through its online account management and provisioning portal.
