[Satellite TODAY 05-21-10] Bryan McGuirk, senior vice president of media services at SES World Skies, will be leaving the company at the end of May to form a new venture in the media and entertainment sector, SES World Skies confirmed May 19.
SES World Skies Senior Vice President of Global Sales Scott Sprague will take on additional responsibilities and head up SES World Skies’ integrated worldwide sales force.
McGuirk had been leading SES’ 3-D TV market initiative. In a March interview with Satellite News, McGuirk discussed the 3-D technology SES had been developing. “Our leadership position in HD gives us the opportunity to look at the next wave of technology and how it will be adopted. … The 3-D TV ecosystem that we’ve just launched was in the works when the networks made their 3-D announcements. There’s no doubt we’re in the right place at the right time with the right idea,” said McGuirk.
