[Satellite TODAY 05-17-10] Dish Network has entered a multi-year partnership with end-to-end IPTV service provider NeuLion to distribute Dish Network’s international channels using NeuLion’s IPTV network, the companies announced May 14.
The partnership aims to provide international programming via IPTV to consumers without access to satellite TV. NeuLion will supply IPTV network components such as encoding, personalization, delivery, registration, monetization, support and reporting tools.
The companies plan to launch the new IPTV service in early 2010.
“We know some of our customers prefer to watch their favorite channels via satellite and others prefer broadband delivery, and we are pleased that we can now offer a solution that fits their specific needs,” Dish Network Vice President of International Programming Chris Kuelling said in a statement.
