[Satellite TODAY 05-14-10] ESPN Star Sports selected GlobeCast as its technical broadcast partner to deliver ICC World Twenty20 cricket sporting events from the West Indies to more than 181 territories around the globe, Globecast announced May 13.
    GlobeCast will deploy engineers at three cricket venues in Guyana, St. Lucia and Barbados and provide a 24-hour satellite booking center and helpdesk during live transmission. About 40 broadcast and syndication partners will carry the programming.
    The feed will be uplinked directly via fiber to GlobeCast facilities in Singapore. A satellite newsgathering station in New Delhi will then downlink the feed and route it to ESS facilities in India for additional production before ingesting into its networks.
    Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
