[Satellite TODAY 04-27-10] Thaicom will investigate signal interference on one of its satellites impacting the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) network, the operator announced in a statement released April 26.
After the interference incident disrupted the NBT’s signal for about eight minutes April 25. Thaicom said it immediately coordinated and advised NBT personnel to increase its uplink power signal to help overcome the interference. When NBT increased uplink power to the satellite from its ground the effect of the interference was reduced.
NBT was able to overcome a second interference issue moments later, while maintaining its broadcast signal, according to Thaicom.

In an interview with Satellite News, Thaicom’s new CEO Arak Chonlatanon discussed the company’s new broadband strategy. To access this feature, subscribe to Satellite News by visiting www.satellitetoday.com/vip
