[Satellite TODAY 04-26-10] Stratos Global Corp. has been selected to provide Inmarsat BGAN mobile broadband satellite service to the Running Tunisia expedition, Stratos announced April 23.
    Running Tunisia, the second stage of a global clean water awareness event, will use BGAN to maintain contact between project team members, post photos and blog entries, upload videos, and stream live video conferencing into classrooms across North America.  Thrane & Thrane Explorer 700 BGAN terminals will be used to deliver the services for the event, which runs from April 16-23.
    Stratos was selected to provide BGAN services to the first stage of the event in March. “The ability to stream live video from Tunisia into classrooms thousands of miles away is helping raise awareness of water-resource issues for the next generation of leaders,” Stratos President and CEO Jim Parm said in a statement.
