[Satellite TODAY 04-23-10] Harris Corp. has been contracted to provide its Nexio advanced media platform to German national public television broadcaster Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF), Harris announced April 22.
    The Nexio technology, which began rollout in October and will continue through 2011, aims to support the company’s move to HD and centralize ZDF’s playout center in Mainz, Germany. Harris also will provide ZDF with an entirely tapeless workflow at its transmission center, which drives the broadcaster’s main channel, as well as the ZDF Info, ZDF Neo, ZDF Theatre and 3sat channels.
    The project was managed by ZDF, with integration services performed by German systems integrator Studio Hamburg MCI.
    Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
