[Satellite TODAY 04-13-10] Azzurro, a New York-based all-digital, HD-enabled video switching hub and T-VIPS, a video contribution and distribution solutions provider signed a partnership agreement to provide HD video connectivity for broadcasters, network operators, production facilities and sports rights holders, the companies announced April 12.
    The companies said that the goal of the partnership is to bring a T-VIPS-powered Azzurro HD service to market. Azzurro has chosen T-VIPS’ TVG430 video gateways for the service.
     “As broadcasters need more and more HD video to stand out from the competition, the Azzurro HD service provides broadcasters with a flexible and powerful service to cost-effectively switch and transport HD video,” T-VIPS CEO Johnny Dolvik said in a statement.
