[Satellite TODAY 04-06-10] Future shareholders of United Arab Emirates-based satellite broadcasting venture YahLive signed a memorandum of understanding with Jordan Media City, a media hub based in Amman, Jordan, to establish a satellite broadcasting strategic business partnership, the companies announced April 5.
    Star Satellite Communications Co. signed the memorandum on behalf of itself and SES Astra as future shareholders of YahLive. The partnership with Jordan Media City will include providing up-link services to satellites, play-out capabilities and other services.
    YahLive, a joint venture created by SES Astra and Yahsat scheduled for launch in early 2011, aims to offer cost-effective satellite-based audio and video broadcast solutions, including direct-to-home and high definition television.
