[Satellite TODAY 03-25-10] Media transport solutions developer Net Insight has been contracted by France Telecom subsidiary GlobeCast to expand its media contribution network and provide technology to handle GlobeCast’s services for 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Net Insight announced March 24.
    GlobeCast, which operates a secure global satellite and fiber video transport network, now plans to further expand its use of the Nimbra platform by implementing a major media network for one of Europe’s leading TV companies, the company said. GlobeCast also has ordered Nimbra nodes to be installed for the contribution links from the World Cup to its existing and new customers. 
    The expanded network will handle a large amount of uncompressed and compressed video channels using HD-SDI, SD-SDI, ASI and Ethernet.
