[Satellite TODAY 03-25-10] Measat Satellite Systems signed an agreement with Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific to distribute the Discovery HD channel via the Measat-3a satellite, the operator announced March 24.
    Discovery HD features content from across Discovery Networks’ most popular channels as well as select exclusive content. Discovery now operates HD services in eight Asia-Pacific markets: Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan.
    “Our partnership with Discovery, which has brought one of the world’s leading HD channels to the region via satellite, is a great addition to the Measat-3 / 3a video neighborhood and a testament to the growing importance of HD in the region,” Measat Vice President of Commercial Operations Terry Bleakley said in a statement.
